Declutter plastic for a better health

Have you ever questioned yourself why you use plastic? Or thought that plastic can be dangerous for us? The fact is that plastic is anything but good for us and can cause us harm in the form of various diseases. When we drink from a plastic bottle, we ingest plastic particles and when we cut on a plastic cutting board, the same thing happens, we ingest plastic.

It's quite logical when you think about it, plastic is not natural and does not belong in our bodies. Imagine swallowing a piece of plastic. Just thinking about it gives you a feeling that you are going to choke, you can really see it getting stuck in your throat and not having a chance to get out of there and if we manage to swallow it against all odds, we know that it will not dissolve in the body but will either get stuck and require a doctor's visit or the piece will eventually come out naturally. So why is it okay for us to ingest plastic that we cannot see?

It is not easy to declutter all the plastic we use. Almost all food is packaged in plastic and it is difficult to avoid it. It is therefore recommended that you look for food that is packaged in glass containers or that is not packaged at all.

But as I said, it is not easy. I have been looking for a glass water bottle for a long time. I have found several in metal but discovered that almost all of these bottles have a plastic straw or a plastic spout to drink from. If the water is stored in metal but you still have to put plastic in your mouth to drink the water, then the whole point of having a metal water bottle has disappeared if the idea is to avoid plastic. Then of course these bottles keep the drink cold longer. I finally found a glass bottle with a wooden cork and only plastic on the inside of the cork so that the wood does not rot, those were the best I could find.

I would therefore recommend that you go through your home, especially the kitchen, and gradually start replacing your plastic jars with glass jars, your plastic plates with porcelain plates, your utensils with wooden utensils. I hope you get the point. I write gradually because it is a cost issue to replace everything at once and it is also not good for the environment that we suddenly throw all plastic into the landfill because it cannot be broken down. I have started replacing certain items in the kitchen with ceramics and replacing plastic spoons with wooden spoons, etc. We will also gradually replace all lunch boxes with glass to the extent that they break or cannot be cleaned anymore. It is all about a process towards a healthier lifestyle.

We must not forget the environmental impact of reducing plastic in our everyday lives. Plastic is not natural, does not break down and destroys our planet. Plastic in the ocean is a big culprit. Plastic in nature is a big culprit. Animals get hurt and get stuck. We get sick. Are you helping to create a better future for yourself? A healthier future for yourself and for those around you? Thank you for caring about your health, the health of your fellow human beings, the health of animals and nature and making the earth a better place to live. A healthier place.
