SLOW LIVING – LESS IS MORE

Slow Living or Simple Living as it also is called is about reducing things in life that prevent you from focusing on what you really love and need. Slow Living is against the stress-filled society we live in today and that we realizing that LESS IS MORE.

What is meant by LESS IS MORE?
It's simply about learning to live with less and thus get more out of life.
When we are overstimulated by all the impressions around us and when we have so many "unnecessary" things that demand our attention, we cannot focus and think clearly. Nor get the relaxation that we need to get for our well-being. This in turn leads to stress and an overworked brain. We can of course control our brain in many ways, you can find more information about that here, https://marysdeclutterlife.com/minimalism-train-your-brain-to-take-in-the-important-things-in-life/, but we are influenced both consciously and unconsciously by all the impressions we receive every day. We should, as far as possible, reduce all parts of life that make us unable to focus or think clearly and that slow us down. We need relaxation in this overstimulating society we live in.

So how do we relax?
First, you should realize that shopping is not a relaxing activity. Although you may get some time to yourself, your brain is stimulated immensely by all the impressions you see during your shopping trip. Instead, you should prioritize your well-being in other ways, for example by going to a spa, taking a walk in the woods or in a park with a smaller amount of people present. If you are at home and don't want to go out, a bath or a long hot shower is recommended. Treat yourself to something other than shopping. Walking in nature is free and since nature has several health-promoting properties, among other things, a calmness is created in us when we listen to nature's sounds such as birdsong. However, you need to find what makes you feel good without overstimulating your brain. Below is a list of things to do that promote health.

- Play board games. An excellent activity to do with both children and adults and a very good way to avoid electronics for a while.
- Activities with your animal if you have any. Training your animal brings joy to both you and the pet.
- Get out into nature and go hiking, fishing, canoeing or anything else exciting you can come up with. Trying new things is never wrong and who knows, you might find your future favorite.
- Sing and/or dance.
- Cooking or baking and preferably healthy.
- Practice any sport.
- Paint or do crafts. Create something amazing alone or together with your family.
